Dans une interview accordée à la presse le 15 janvier, le ministre des Travaux publics, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi (photo), a annoncé qu’en cet exercice 2018, les maires seront désormais les maîtres d’ouvrage pour ce qui concerne la gestion du réseau routier. Il explique que les magistrats municipaux vont fixer les orientations, et les ingénieurs du génie civil, les délégués départementaux ou les délégués régionaux, vont les appuyer au plan technique. Le gouvernement camerounais a déjà promis de répartir une enveloppe de 1,8 milliard Fcfa, à 201 communes pour le cantonnage routier en 2018
